Product Description:
Thanks to his contribution to Portuguese society and culture, José Ferreira Pinto Basto, founder of Vista Alegre, received numerous honors throughout his lifetime. Awarding orders was a way for the Crown (and, today, the State) to reward individuals who stood out in various fields. The Grandes Insígnias collection revives some of the most notable decorations received by José Ferreira Pinto Basto from the Vista Alegre Museum collection, namely: Knight of the Order of Christ (1803), Insignia of the Order of Avis (first half of the 19th century) and Coat of Arms, by charter of King João VI (1818).
