Shipping and Delivery
Here at Portugalia, we want your shopping experience to be hassle-free from beginning to end. That's why when you order with us, you can rest assured that your products will be delivered to your home as quickly as possible. Our customer service team is here to communicate with you every step of the way so that you may have an accurate time frame of when your shipment will arrive.
Orders usually leave our warehouse within 1-2 business days. These are estimated shipping times and not a guarantee. We ship items out Monday - Saturday. No items are shipped out on Sundays. If we become aware of any delays or if there should be unexpected changes, we will notify you via e-mail.
We are proud to offer FREE SHIPPING on most of our items when purchased online to addresses in the continental US only. We do not ship to Hawaii, Alaska, or P.O Boxes. We ship to the address provided at checkout.
The domestic standard delivery transit time frame is 2-9 business days once the product leaves our warehouse.
Although standard shipping is indicated at checkout, we might ship out via other methods if we feel that it will be more cost and time effective.
All merchandise will be shipped by either UPS, FedEx, USPS or Trucking Company depending on weight, size and destination of the shipping address provided by you.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
We now provide shipping to Canada on some items.
Customs
You, the customer, are responsible for all taxes and duties (including VAT) imposed by your country of residence.
Portugalia Sales Inc. is not responsible for any packages held by international customs agencies and it is not the responsibility of Portugalia Sales Inc. to make the customer aware of these agencies and their actions. Please check with your country's customs office to determine their procedures and any potential charges.
For example, Canada residents might expect a customs charge of at least 20% of the total cost of the purchase. Portugalia Sales Inc. is not responsible for this payment. Your package may arrive at your local post office or delivery center and be held until pickup and payment is taken care of.
If you neglect to pick up your package and it is returned to us, we will not refund the charge for original shipping.
If it is a custom piece or Special Order and it is returned to us, you should contact us immediately to arrange reshipping as custom and Special orders are final sale and we cannot refund you for the purchase.
As with domestic shipping, if a package can't be delivered due to an error entering your shipping address, Portugalia Sales Inc. is not responsible for any additional fees that may incur in order to reroute or reship the package.
Tracking
If you have a USPS package marked as delivered but haven't received it, please contact your local mail facility (ie. Canada Post in Canada).
In summary; you will have to pay taxes and duties in your own country. This is extra and we have no control over it. By purchasing a Portugalia Sales Inc. product, you acknowledge that you are aware of this and accept it as your financial responsibility.
LARGE ITEMS SHIPPING CONDITIONS
Our provided carrier varies on the shipping location, and curbside delivery with insurance included. Units, such as large appliances, will be padded, boxed, and secured to a wooden skid to further prevent any damage during transit. Due to time restrictions by the freight companies, we do not offer inside delivery. Standard transit time to the lower 48 continental states is around 3 to 10 days from when your shipment is picked up from our warehouse in Newark, NJ. A tracking number for your shipment will be issued to you via email. It is your responsibility to provide us with at least one phone number. Without a phone number, we will not be able to ship out your large home appliance(s). So if you are not registered with us, please call us or email us to provide us with your phone number.
Special Order Conditions
Special orders are special import orders from Portugal and cannot be cancelled or returned. Every effort will be made to expedite your order; however, a specific date cannot be guaranteed. Our commitment is that you will receive your item no longer then 45-Days after the purchase date.
If the unfortunate event that your item arrives damaged, please email us and our customer service team will be happy to work out a solution. We will in some cases request photos of the damage to expedite the process .
