About FarPortugal:
FarPortugal's story traces its roots to the Marian apparitions of Fátima in 1917, when local families began handcrafting rosaries to meet the growing devotion of pilgrims visiting the sacred shrine. What started as a humble family tradition by António Henriques and his children, creating rosaries by hand and delivering them to churches throughout Portugal - laid the foundation for one of Portugal's most respected religious manufacturers.
In 1971, one of António Henriques' sons officially established FarPortugal, initially specializing in handcrafted rosaries. As pilgrimage to Fátima continued to grow, so did the company's expertise, expanding into beautifully crafted religious statues, crucifixes, porcelain décor, and other devotional articles while remaining committed to traditional Portuguese craftsmanship.
Today, FarPortugal is proudly managed by the third generation of the Henriques family, continuing its legacy of producing authentic religious art in Fátima. Every piece reflects decades of experience, meticulous hand-finishing, and a deep respect for the faith and traditions that have made Fátima one of the world's most important pilgrimage destinations.
